Surprise! Singapore A380 to JFK Starting Jan 15th

It has long been speculated as to what aircraft would replace the 747-400 on Singapore's daily SIN-FRA-JFK route but it has now been announced that starting January 15th Singapore Airlines will introduce the A380 to JFK.

I was expecting the 777-300ER to be put on the route because of its apparent less than satisfactory revenue but at least we have another A380 at JFK. It will be interesting to see what this does to the nonstop SIN-EWR flight.

Then JFK is the only airport in the world that receives A-380 service from every A-380 operator so far. This is an impressive record!

The timetables on their web site are showing A380 service, so I assume it is.
