Except for the 707, does this mean Delta has flown every model of Boeing and Douglas Jetliners???

The L1011 was a Lockheed aircraft....which Delta did indeed fly (and was even the largest owner of), I believe up until 2000 or 2001?

I believe DL will be flying the 787 next year or so, they are taking the ones that were ordered from NW.

Nope. Those orders are long gone. DL won't be getting a 787 until 2018, I believe.
    EDIT: Check that, it's 2020.

Welcome. It's sad, I know. NWA was touting the 787 way back since 2007.

    13 years later...

This video makes so me sad. The 2007 video says that NWA will be the North American launch customer of the 787...in 2008.

Currently the only US carrier with firm 787 orders is United. AA will be next, with or without a US Airways tie up. After that...who knows. Wouldn't be surprised if JetBlue got some before Delta at this rate.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

Oops, the Delta order is firm, but they keep pushing it back. Despite having earlier delivery slots, AA's order is not yet firm.

Yup. I guess Delta doesn't feel the need to replace their transatlantic 757 and 767 anytime soon....
And while they are at it, they have decided to refurb the worlds oldest fleet of 747-400s. Remember, NWA was the launch customer of the -400, so Deltas 747s are quite elderly.
Their widebody fleet is going to look awful by the time 2020 rolls around.
