I was able to stop by Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport last weekend. It's a beautiful airfield located just a few miles from I-81 in Weyers Cave, VA.
When I arrived a Titan HRP 4x4 ARFF truck was busy watering the grass.
There's always some nice business jets on the ramp.
Hawker 900XP, N816SE.
Beechjet 400A, N75TG.
A shinny, 60 year old Cessna 170B, N4563C.
Then a DHC-8-202 skirted by the field. It's owned by Dynamic Aviation operated on behalf of the US Army. I was hoping it would make a touch and go but it just continued west at low level.
A nice PC-12, N12FA, owned by Fisher Auto Parts, arriving back at its home base.
My first time spotting an Air Canada Rouge plane, en-route to YYZ.
Cessna 172 making a low pass over runway 23 while practicing touch-and-goes.
Beechcraft King Air, N75Z, owned by Dynamic Aviation. You’re almost guaranteed to see one of these planes if you visit SHD.
Then a visit to the mini boneyard located to the North of the field.
Two 762s, N769DA has been here for a few years and a new addition, HS-JAD.
HS-JAD, is ex Jet Asia Airways. Nice to see a Thai registered plane in the Shenandoah Valley.
N769DA with its number 2 engine removed.
Dismembered remains of MD-80, LV-BOR, and Air Canada DC-9, N897JM.
A view inside LV-BOR.
Seems like they've cut the fuselage to fit perfectly onto the trailer.
The main gear, wings and stabilizers.
Finally while I was leaving 2 F-18s flew over at high level.
Hope you enjoyed!
