Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
Yeah
Nice video, Thanks for posting
About 46 seconds. It must have been loaded to the gills on a very hot day. I remember seeing El Al and Seaboard 747 flights use up most of 13R and 31L during the summer. Which leads to me to a tech question (not a trivia question). When the 747s lifted off the Pratts and GE's would smoke somewhat. A spotter friend of mine told me that was from the pilot injecting oil or water, I forget which, into one of the burners for extra thrust. True? False?
Spotters have been Homeland Security before HS was a glimmer in the president's eye.
Wow that is one long roll, I think I'd be a bit nervous sitting there thinking...ok when are we taking off. Great video though, thanks for posting this!
They used to inject water but I thought that was only on the -100's I believe the 707 had it too
Overheard on JFK TOWER - S Turns are fine, U-Turns are bad....
