    MIA, OPF Spotting October 9th

    Greetings,
Got a few shots at MIA, OPF yesterday. The two highlights were the Canadian Air Force A10 and AN-12 in SRX colors.

MIA has the most unique and rare traffic in the country, bar none.

That Canadian A310 is perhaps the best looking of the type that I've ever seen.

GREAT shots Senga and a nice assortment. The DC-7 at OPF in the classic EAL livery has been being restored for around 2 years or more, however that is the first photo I have seen since painting. Will make an amazing site at airshows when she's done.

Senga: excellent shots. Are most of these taken from locations accessible to the public, or from restricted ares due to your connections? If it's the former, do you mind share the info? I might be able to visit MIA/FLL in Dec. So natually I am interested in finding things out.
    Thanks.

I am so booking a trip down to MIA for spring break! What's the reg on the Air Liberte DC-10, Senga? There's a good chance that I flew on this very plane a few years back. Judging by the activity around it in the photo, I'd say it's getting ready to ferry somewhere. Any info on that? In any case, great shots Senga! I will be sure to visit this place soon!

Thanks for the compliments my fellow humans.
Ron, I have a lot of shots of the EAL DC-7. I'll make a new thread about it later. Amazing aircraft.

JZ1, Jiasong is that you? I met you at Bayswater a few years back.
Yes all the OPF shots accept for the DC-7s shots were taken from accessable places. You can still get some of the DC-7s from around the airport though. Everything at MIA I shot was from accessable places. Mainly the "Holes"
Unfortunately NWA is starting to fly DC-9s into OPF for storage and its starting to block shots of desierable aircraft. I missed a good shto of the Aeropostal 727 because of this now.

    Omar,
The registraiton of the Airlib DC-10 N956PT. It does look like its being prepped for flight. Much more stuff going on with it than fomr when I shot it the first time.

Bill, Yes it was a disappointment I missed the Air France A320 because I-95 was shut down for about 40 mins while I was on it thanks to an accident. I did make up for it with a shot of the TAM A320 :)

    Mario,
N381AA was repaint a while back into its AAL colors. It used to fly for American. Then painted white. The owner like to repaint planes into their origional airline colors.

    Fred,
The Eastern DC-7 is being being restored for airshow circuits. I hope to see it when its fully completed.

Thanks Rafal, I will be seeing you there next month!
There were people buzzing all over this aircraft its amazing how I didn't get a single one in my shots. Strange.
Heres a few shots of the EAL DC-7
