How is the angle of the sun for the show? Is the flightline set up so the sun is at your back during the performances? If so, I may consider going.

Thanks for posting the info Phil, I was starting to think that it wasn't going go to happen because there was so little info on it. A B1-B, wow, missed the one a few years back at Jones Beach.

The lighting sucks at McGuire... it's basically almost on top of you the entire day.

As much as I'd like to see the KC-10, KC135, and C-17 fly in formation, I'm not going to waste my gas for crap lighting.

I really wish that these shows would take the light into consideration. Granted I know that 80% of the crowd isn't there to take top quality photos, but still would be niceto go to an airshow and not have it backlit.

yeah the ramp is on the north side of the field so you're facing south...there CAN be some ok shots but not really worth it unless you're already in town.

Yeah, and at 4.25/gal, and a truck that gets 14mpg on a GOOD day, I'm not making the 5 hour drive for a few "CAN be some ok shots".

Besides the crap lighting, the traffic is usually nightmare also !!
I'd love to see the BONE flybys but unfortunately I'll have to pass on this show.

Ill be there. Bad lighting and all. Ill try to make it work. I was at this show a few years back. I enjoyed it except for the heat that day.

Eric, I was there as well...both days actually, and the first day the show was cancelled or weather. They do have a decent show, and shots are definitely salvageable.

The traffic is like Oceana. The show... is not. Last time I was there, I got the OSI harassing for taking a picture of the F-22. I won't be returning.

A few years back, 2006, maybe - the first time they had an air show at McGuire since 9/11 - they had an F-22 on the static display ramp. They had CAP cadets along the rope line around the back of the aircraft, telling people they couldn't photograph the rear of the aircraft. It's possible a few shots were taken at the end of the day, when most people, including the CAP-types, had left the ramp. Not that I would have done anything like that, mind you, I'm just saying...
