There is a parking lot where the ferry leaves from near the Marine Parkway Bridge. You can get a good shot of it coming under the Bridge.

Thank you Vinny I will check that out
There's a Duane reade at the corner of beach116th st and beach channel drive in rockaway. The rockaway 911 memorial park is right next to it. You should be able to get some shots of it headed through the bay and headed towards the marine park bridge from there. There's also a parking lot for the federal park and the ferry from the Rockaways into the city on the Rockaways side of the marine park bridge, just west of the bridge itself. It should allow for some good photos, too. Sadly, while that's right by my apartment, I'm inmwestchester today. Would have been nice to meet some of you guys. Good luck!
I am sitting on crossbay bridge. You can download an app called marine traffic and watch where the barge is. The barge is named Kathleen. It is still in bergen basin.
You can follow the track here http://marinetraffic.com/ais/# Tugboat name is Kathleen. I just came back home after waiting on the bridge since 8am.
How accurate is that schedule? I am on Staten Island and want to go under the VZ bridge.
Storms starting to come through. Heavy one here in East Nassau.
Chased the shuttle from HoBe to Cross Bay to Marine Parkway Bridge. Awesome shots along the way. Thanks for the company, Manny, Eric, Moose, and Mark.

I wish I was able to make it to the bridge and meet up with the rest of the gang, but unfortunately, I had another late afternoon family function. Here are a few from earlier this afternoon as the barge waited before it made its trek to the Cross Bay Memorial bridge. As always sir Manny it was a great pleasure shooting with you. By the way, who was that other guy next to us (oh yeah..........Jason!).

Took my family to "To the Struggle Against World Terrorism" Monument (also known as the Tear of Grief and the Tear Drop Memorial) at Bayonne to watch Space Shuttle Enterprise.
There was a storm just before Enterprise get into the Upper New York Bay. People had to get back into their cars for the heavy rain. We had a rainbow after the storm and I had my Galen Rowell moment by putting Enterprise and the rainbow in the same frame.
