That's the new intermodal facility that recently opened at CLT. The photographer has to be connected to the railroad or the airport, because that's the only way to get a shot like that.

Some irony in this shot for those of you were not old enough or just didn't follow the airline industry as closely as most of us on this site do back in 1987 Norfolk Southern which owned a fair amount of Piedmont Aviation (the Parent Company of Piedmont Airlines) stock made a serious attempt to acquire Piedmont but were outbid by an airline named USAir. TWA was also a bidder.
