I've always wanted to know which aircraft AvGeeks preferred as a whole. A380 or 747-8? A350 or 787? A320 or 737? Which ones?

748, 787, 737, although I can't comment about the 350 yet.

Preferred to what end?
To fly on, take pictures of, listen to, just plain watch, all of the above? :-)
If you must wrap it up into one package, as far as commercial airliners go... The 747 is a gorgeous plane but given the absolute daring of the A380, my nod goes to it for execution and, yes, it looks great to me..
Let the flaming begin. But, I want the first shot from Kenny

Funny you should ask - I was about to start a similar thread. I was looking at a picture of Lufthansa's B747-8 in Airliners this month, and could not help but think how elegant the Queen of the Skies has become. The lengthened upper deck really creates a certain symmetry than the original -100 and -200 lacked. Compared to the 747-8, the Airbus A380 looks like a beached whale (not that I would mind actually flying on one).
This one is UGLY!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
I beg to differ Fred
OK, Your right....it is really F***in UGLY
my bad....sorry

Technically, it is just an opinion, not a statement of fact. But, whatever makes you feel better about yourself ... the A380 is still the most daring design implemented at such a large scale since the AN-225, and it carries people. Even the SR-71 and Space Shuttle (which you can argue were just as daring) have competition in the form of the idea/goal/execution.

Well, thank you Adam! Your response was a bit more grown up and elegant. I really don't mind a good discussion. It is a shame when it gets melted to a brawl. No need for it... The beauty of the world lies in its diversity and breadth. Imagine if there were only one smell, one flower, one type of food ... how boring!
I find beauty in a Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier, what do I know jijiji.
Cheers!

As a tri-holer fanatic, I would hold any of them as preference in most categories. The A380 is an amazing plane, but for me it's silence takes something away from it, but that same silence also adds to it's amazement. Kind of hard to explain, but I think most of you know what I mean.
Regards,
Bill
I really like the 748i...graceful and huge.
