Can't believe how cramped it is, and also that they were able to launch in the snow like they did.

Don't be so quick to disparage the most technologically advanced machine we have capable of launching people into space. A Soyuz is launching astronauts is superior to the slingshot used to launch Angry Birds.

But not by much.

I can't believe we're cadging rides on Soyuzes...

When at NASA in Houston for work, here are a couple of shots of the Soyuz capsule used for training. I would say the Space Shuttle was like the cadillac for space travel while the Soyuz is the volkswagon. Just think about it, the crew travels approximately 3 days in these cramped quarters to catch up with the ISS .
