Look like a really nice ball park. I wonder what its going to be called when Citibank has to split up.

And I, I took the path less traveled by

I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

And the Sponsor right to the left, I think the one you are referring to is a Gulf Sign.

Didn't someone already pen the phrase "Debit's Field" ?Originally Posted by T-Bird76
Nice shot Eric, I thought you might have gotten out there for the first game. I've been reading the stories in the paper today about the new ballpark, but can you share any first-hand impressions about the place?

Now I have been to some of the newer ballparks around the country(Sea, San Fransisco, Arizona, Philly) so it kind of reminded a little of those but with its own unique look and feel. Now the seats do face toward home plate, however there are very few seats/sections that actually give you a 100% sight line of the field, which was kind of disappointing and I probably checked out most of the stadium. This is due to being closer to the field but reducing the amount of foul territory. Plenty of choices for food and shopping. Looks of nooks and crannies if you just want to wonder around. My favorite spot is the outdoor patio for the restaurant in the left field corner(where the shot was taken from) Probably not going to be able visit there during the regular season.
It does not seem like the Mets play there yet. The walls in the concourse don't have any Mets stuff up yet. But overall its a pretty nice park.

I love the Butch Husky monument!
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
Hey they brought over the home run apple!! :P
They actually have two now. There is a new one beyond the centerfield fence that will pop up after Met home runs. The old one from Shea is on display inside the stadium.Originally Posted by Lezam

I like that they kept the foul poles orange - only stadium in the majors to do so. I'm not thrilled about cutting capacity down to 42K, pulling in 50 for a game isn't unheard-of, and I wonder if walk-up traffic is going to be affected.
