Phil, if this was the Price is Right, you'd get some kind of prize for getting the first two numbers right. According to the website for the Taxi & Limousine Commission, there are 12,187 medallion (yellow) taxicabs. http://www.nyc.gov/html/tlc/html/about/about.shtml Just this morning, I think I saw all 12,187 of them drive by me in Midtown as I walked to work.

In all my years living in this city, the little slot that goes back and forth between the divider is something I have never used, until last night when I took a cab home.
I was kinda excited about it until I saw that crumpled up dollars don't go through there so easily.

there ay be 12,000 smething medallion cabs, but then there are those without medallions, and the livery cabs and car services and all that... it's mind boggling!!!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
