I have the white Canon 70-300 and like it, but I have my sights set on the 70-200 2.8L IS II after having one for a two-week rental period. And now I'm thinking about potentially selling my 70-300...
Thanks for the comment, Jeremy. I found someone I know who has the 2.8. II IS--I'm going to see if I could try it before I buy one.
Anyone here used both the IS and non-IS versions of the Canon 70-200 2.8? I'm currently using the first-generation non-IS version on my 7D for sports, but I'm not too thrilled with the quality of my...
This is beautiful, Moose! Perfect light and background and such rich colors! One of the most striking aviation photos I've seen in a while.
Good job on the elusive N37NY. I've been trying to get...

I generally use center-weighted/evaluative, but I usually switch to spot metering when outside on an overcast day or in a dark environment.
Beautiful shots, Don! I'm hoping to get out there one day--would love to see the Janet's and the Las Vegas Sands fleet!
I got an email around this time last year from a government contractor who wanted one of my photos. The guy said it'd be used in brochures and other promo materials for an international audience, and...
Thanks guys!
And I agree with you, Moose--maybe this could have used a better title!
Went out tonight hoping to get some sunset shots. I got only one a/c (and with only two minutes of sun left!), but let me know what you think!
(Sorry for the low quality--these are jpgs resized...
Right now, the 5D Mark II is my primary camera and the Rebel XT is my backup. Hoping to ditch the Rebel soon for a refurbished 7D.
Hey Eric,
Thanks for your reply. You have some great shots of the US Open! I'll send you a PM to chat.
Has anyone here ever done tennis matches before? I'll be doing a high school match in a few days and have no experience photographing this sport before.
I have the 70-200 f/2.8 and 70-300 f/4-5.6L...

Hey guys!
I'm having a problem with quality consistency when viewing my edited photos on different platforms. I edit with Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 on a MacBook Pro. When I edit, I have my...
Beautiful shots! Both the light and colors in your 88ZL shot are amazing!
Were you able to get any of the Lockheed Jetstar's that are based at OPF?
I have a Promaster 58mm Skylight 1A filter, free to a good home. I found it in my camera bag and have no use for it since I got rid of all my smaller lenses.
If anyone wants it, let me know!
I got everything recovered successfully! Thanks for the help
Thanks for the link--I'll try this one out.
I had been running another program I found online called CardRescue--and it is finding photos--but they're all in TIF format, not RAW. Are those RAW...
Hey guys,
I'm having a problem retrieving some photos I took this afternoon. They're definitely on the card as it's showing as 50% full, but when I try to review the images on the camera it says...
