AWESOME!
Yup.
Like I said in my post above....8,000' is the number and they arent going to violate that unless they really have to.
I hate that its like this as much as the next guy and yes...the Air...
Its a shame this board isnt as popular as it used to be. I dont know if the regulars have gone on to greener pastures or if the lack of activity here is a testament to the JBAS being...not sure what...
Thats totally fair. I just made another comment to this effect on a separate post...if FRG just doesnt work for them for bona fide operational reasons, then fine. We cant complain. That said, I...
That makes zero sense. FOD can happen anywhere. FRG is the biggest GA airport in the country with plenty of jet traffic every single day, several top of the line FBO facilities, etc. It gets...
I expect you to defend the Air Force, but you know deep down that them skipping Republic is not right and the Thunderbirds and AF demo teams basically hiding their aircraft and cutting off virtually...
Glad they changed the logo. They sure as hell havent changed the lineup. Even the casual observers I bring to JB shows comment "this is the same as last year."
Theres been a nice 737-200 parked at Sheltair for about two weeks now, N912NB. There is also a second 737 at the new hangars.
Crap shoot. If you go to the beach tomorrow and see the F22 team on the boardwalk, tell them!
True True...in all the years, Ive never seen a team NOT do a Friday practice. Id be shocked (and pissed!!) if they didnt go up Fri PM.
Usually, Thursday for Ba's should be arrival, go to beach for circling and markers, media flite. Friday is then Annapolis in the AM and full practice in the PM. Possible they changed the schedule...
They have been messing around with the arresting gear for a few days now and have also had 32/14 completely closed. Thats not typical, I wonder why its taking so long.
That was my understanding. Makes sense. Still stinks, as in years past we got the whole magilla of aircraft. Now its cut way back it seems.
Overall...and I'm sure Ill get flamed for this...is the...
Very disappointed that Yankee Lady and Miss Hap didn't fly the air show. At least they didn't on Saturday.
It was to do with runway length. The USAF wont allow use of FRG because they feel 32/14 is "too short" at FRG for the T-Bird F-16s.
The F16C has a takeoff length of about 1,750 feet and landing...
All was quiet when I passed by at 9.
Wish I could have been there. What a class act.
If I may rant for a second...they cant keep aircraft in the air, keep having to leave them behind, and they just lost one as well which I can only assume had some kind of mechanical component to the...
Blues have announced that they are back flying. So nice to see. I would expect them to come and pick up #5 soon.
Some random flowers and flags are now along the terminal fence by #5 in tribute to Capt. Kuss.
Call me nuts but if they do all come back to pick up #5 with Bert and the crew, a nice round of applause from those along the fence would be in order. Just a show of support of some sort.
Both teams suffer crashes on the same day at virtually the same time? How does that even happen? Insane.
From what I understand they need only like an additional 250 feet more than what FRG has for some reason. Seems like its not much, but thats their directive. I do recall last time they were at FRG...
Get your butts to the terminal now. He's along the fence unobstructed.
