Thanks, guys! Very happy with the results.
Having gone five months without plane spotting I decided it was high time for an afternoon out at the airport. Very happy with the results! The Ceiba Intercontinental was a welcome catch, as was the...
The Qatar A330-200 was accompanied by the A340-500, which was parked at ADW, and the A310, which was parked at IAD. On my departure from JFK today I saw the A330-200 being prepped for departure and...
Unrelated to the plane spotting of the day but I happened to arrive on 22L this morning and got a great view of the mounds from the air!

It depends on the time and the day. One runway is used for take offs and the other for landings from airport opening until 3pm when they alternate. If you google search LHR runway schedule you should...
No surprise there - TAM will also be moving to Terminal 8 at JFK as of April 1st.
Lucky me I get to fly them one last time as a Star member today and reap the benefits. :)
After receiving an internal news memo I can unfortunately confirm that the flights will continue to be operated by SWISS aircraft but with an Edelweiss crew. :(
My condolences to you, Phil, and to Matt's family. This is very shocking news. We've lost a great contributor to the aviation world. But hey, isn't the view better from above anyway? RIP my friend.
Following LOT, Alitalia will consolidate their New York operations to JFK, canceling their FCO-EWR flight from May 12th onwards. As a result, Alitalia will increase FCO-JFK from 14 to 17 weekly...

Congrats to the winners! I'm grateful to see that some of my photos made it to the finalists. It means a lot to me and I think shows how far I've come since I joined NYCA some 8 years ago, much of...
The annual horse charter from Australia, operated by an Emirates SkyCargo 777-200LRF, is en-route to SWF with an ETA of 8:45am tomorrow.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news since I posted this thread but it looks like Swiss has clarified this matter and apparently the aircraft will be Swiss but operated with Edelweiss cabin/cockpit...
Some nice Christmas news for spotters... Starting March 31 the Edelweiss A330-300 will be replacing one of two daily flights from Zurich on Thursday's.
Here's the schedule:

Phil, the German Air Force has a base at Dulles. This means that C-160's, the Luftwaffe tanker A310's, and the A340-300 are common visitors to IAD. Though it's still pretty unique to see them here.
Nice shots regardless, John! The light was perfect. Nice catch on the German Air Force plane and the United Star 777, didn't get a chance to photograph either.
According to airlineroute.net, Etihad will upgrade their daily AUH-JFK-AUH flight from the A340-600 to the 777-300ER. AUH-ORD and AUH-YYZ have seen the 777-300ER from the beginning of their...

Thanks, guys! I was really happy with how they turned out. I've worked at the airport before and have kept a few contacts there, which certainly comes in handy. ;)
Phil, the NA 763 is among three...
Today was just about a beautiful day for anything in Washington, D.C. I just happened to be so lucky to get out on the ramp at Dulles for a few hours this afternoon and was absolutely blown away by...
According to a news conference held yesterday in Athens by Qatar CEO Al-Akbar, Qatar Airways plans to open daily flights between Athens and New York starting in June 2013. Flights are expected to be...
Most of the photos were taken from an embankment located next to the path bridge that makes up part of the Mt. Vernon trail that runs along the airport perimeter. If you exit the airport from the...
I wouldn't have the foggiest idea of how to tell them apart, Moose! Thanks for the correction. Any idea who the two navy and grey ones belong to?
With the beautiful weather the DC area has been having recently and the wonderful photos that John and Fasil have been posting, I found it hard to resist a spotting outing any longer... I debated...
