Great job, Senga !!
Hey Mark, check your inbox cause I sent you the info I promised up at RI to you the other day.
FYI - Fat Albert is currently flying over NC right now and heading Northeast,
so it looks like it's heading to FRG and will probably arrive early this afternoon.
I was riding down New Highway tonight and saw the Hendrick's Gin Flying Cucumber Blimp is back at FRG again.
FYI, I'm not sure what the Bu. No. is of the #5 jet sitting on the tarmac right now,
but the Bu. No. of the #5 jet that first landed at FRG last Thursday was #163451.
Not sure if #5 is still at FRG, but Fat Albert just took off a few minutes ago heading west.
Not yet, heard Fat Albert will be returning sometime tomorrow with a crew to work on #5
Snowbirds 5,8,9 and 11 finally departed just before 3:30.
Yeah, that was awesome !!
The pilot's family were on the ramp and his brother was taking video of the low passes at the end of RWY 14 also.
Yes, great pics of it Moose, and like Joe said, here's a decent video I found of it also.
BA#5 had mechanical issues and went directly back to FRG after the show.
As Gerard posted, Fat Albert ( BA#10) departed at 5:30 to go pick up parts
and I heard it should be returning around 9PM...
The schedule changed for the HF today and was actually performed later on in the show around 1PM.
That LOW approach the F-35A did and the high speed pass by the F-16 on RWY 19 was very cool to see at FRG today!!
I just found this crappy smartphone video of it on Youtube to give you an...
F-16 Demo Team has already arrived at ISP also.
Fred and Joe, thanks for the info !
Tim, did BA #7 do the test on the arresting system after he arrived today?
I just saw on TV that a News 12 Reporter went up with the Breitling Jet Team today and I was just
curious if anyone has heard who's going up with the Blues during their Media Flights on...
That's great news !!
Any update on if the A-10s were approved yet to visit the AAM ??
Here's all the details about the USMC & NAVY Helicopter Landing at Eisenhower Park on Saturday,
that includes USMC CH-53 Super Stallion and AH-1W Cobra helicopters and a performance by the
They'll be some practicing going on Thursday cause the TFR is in effect from 10AM - 3PM EDT daily from May 26 - May 29
Here's an article that explains why the Blue Angels use a Mobile Aircraft Arresting System (MAAS) at Airfields they use for Air Shows:
I drove by Republic this afternoon and saw they've installed the temporary arresting system on the RWY 32 already.
Last I heard the F-35 will still be using ACY and the F-16 will be using ISP for the Jones Beach show.
FYI - looks like the Snowbirds and Breitling Jet Teams will be based over by the AAM and Sheltair for the show.
and I see the AAM is expecting active service A-10s to be visiting over Memorial Day...
