I'm curious if anyone knows how they arrived in Pyongyang. Air Koryo IL-62? A US Government aircraft since it was part of a diplomatic package? Air China? Rail? These are the kinds of questions that keep me awake at night.

I think I saw Thai airways but not 100% sure
I believe it was an Asiana Airlines 747-400 that flew to North Korea via Beijing.
I think Gordon is right. I was watching the BBC and it showed an Asiana 747 New Colors in the background.
I would agree with Asiana. Check out the beginning of the video on the NY Times website... http://video.on.nytimes.com/?fr_stor...c7fc3bb5247dd7
Press reports have it as an Asiana 744 Combi in the new c/s. Flight number was OZ1004, which apparently means "angel" in Korean. The flight wasn't direct from New York, since the orchestra was on tour in Asia beforehand.
Asiana donated a 747-400 with full crews for them to get to North Korea, suprised Ponyang could handle it! Probably hasn't seen that much of a modern aircraft in 30 or so years!
