Nice night shots John,
I must say your second to the last night shot (Above the lightning strike) is probably the best aviation related night shot I ahve ever seen. To me it is just amazing.

Thank you, Senga! I really appreciate that. I find myself stopping and looking at it every time I come across it.
World Atlantic Airlines is a charter operator out of MIA - I had to look that up, I had not heard of them before seeing their MD-82 at CLT on Friday. They were flying a charter to Guatamala.

Swift Air has been flying weekly charter flights recently.

AeroMexico is also flying a weekly charter this summer.

A few interesting things from CLT today:
Charlotte Mecklenburg Police (CMPD) has their aviation unit at the airport, but I've never caught them. Today, one of their helicopters launched, crossed the runways at the south end of the field, then headed north overflying the Overlook - it's backlit, but I finally got one.

Elite Airways, a charter operator. I've caught this frame at RDU as well.

Grumman Gulfstream II, serial number 1 - the first G-II built by Grumman in 1966. It served as a test and demonstration aircraft for Grumman until 1970, when it was sold to Robert Galvin, CEO of Motorola (and son of the company's founder). Galvin and his family used it until 2012, when it was retired and flown to the Carolinas Aviation Museum at CLT for display.

Sikorsky S-58JT owned by Midwest Helicopters, who provide heavy lift services with it - it was built in 1958, and is still in use.

I saw that S-58 at FWA in 2015.
We've gotten some neat visitors into CLT - today we have an Antonov An-12 owned by CAVOK Airlines, a Ukrainian charter cargo operator, paying a visit to CLT!

Great shots Moose! That Cavok Air is quite the catch for sure!

Thanks, Rich! And if you think one is good, how about two? We had another CAVOK An-12 arrive early this morning, UR-CKL this time. Both are on the ramp together, but I wasn't in a spot to get them in the same shot.

Wow two at the same time? How lucky can you get? I ave never even seen one

Summer nights, and you have to keep an eye on CLT - thunderstorms in Atlanta caused this KLM 777 to divert until they cleared.

Damn ... CLT definitely gets some nice surprises. Nice catches on the KLM and Cavok!
Thanks, Mark!
Yeah, loved that one too
Thanks, guys, I really appreciate that!
