They Are. :)
I wish I was able to make it to the bridge and meet up with the rest of the gang, but unfortunately, I had another late afternoon family function. Here are a few from earlier this afternoon as the barge waited before it made its trek to the Cross Bay Memorial bridge. As always sir Manny it was a great pleasure shooting with you. By the way, who was that other guy next to us (oh yeah..........Jason!).

Took my family to "To the Struggle Against World Terrorism" Monument (also known as the Tear of Grief and the Tear Drop Memorial) at Bayonne to watch Space Shuttle Enterprise.
There was a storm just before Enterprise get into the Upper New York Bay. People had to get back into their cars for the heavy rain. We had a rainbow after the storm and I had my Galen Rowell moment by putting Enterprise and the rainbow in the same frame.

Excellent shots !!! Can't wait for Tuesday morning !!!!!!
Guys, I look at these photos, and I am so proud to be a member here. Among the best collection of photos from a group I think this site has ever seen. Kudos all around.
Guys, we may want to make a gallery of your photos in an article on the site. If you posted shots in this thread and are cool with that, just reply saying so please!
Amazing shots, everyone!
I planned on heading to Cross Bay, but I got a late start due to some wedding planning.
I did end up finding a nice spot near Sea Gate, on the western tip of the Coney Island peninsula. Just two keepers from me...

Phil you can use my stuff. I am processing the 500 or so pics now. They will be up somewhere tomorrow.
Yankees368 - I knew someone from this forum was near me because on a few occasions I saw some people taking pics of planes behind the bridge towards the city.
I am in the process of uploading 7 videos from today. The first one just went live. http://youtu.be/Cud6xVwPZWY I hope the members here enjoy it. You have to excuse the audio as it was very windy. You may want to turn your speakers off.
I guess as I upload the video I will ad to this post. This is video #2

WOW... man those are terrific. I just got home (12:15am actually) and am just starting to download my cards. No way I will get to them properly this evening as I am dead tired.
Started at 5:45am this morning... met with Mark "Zee71" around 8:00 or 9:00am I guess and spotted for a bit from HoBe and ended up staying there for quite some time as Enterprise sat for the tides for a couple of hours ... Jason joined us and then we split up as Mark had a prior engagement.
Jason and I then met with Eric and his Brother at the Cross Bay Bridge and we stayed there until she passed under us. We all left the bridge in a hurry, got in our cars and drove south to Breezy Point / Fort Tilden to the Ferry Terminal next to Gil Hodges Bridge... there we met up with Moose.
From here Jason and Eric dropped out while Moose and I headed to Ft Hamilton in SI where we met up with Cary. After this we headed to NJ to the Weeks Marine termianl and finished the evening there an hour or so ago.
The people turned out in much higher numbers that I expected. Perhaps larger crowds than the arrival via the SCA.

Phil, feel free to use the shots I post here... if I ever get to

Started out at the Marine Parkway Bridge, where I met the gang.

As Manny said, we headed to Fort Wadsworth, and met up with Cary. Here is the shuttle coming under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. About 15 seconds after this shot, an outbound cruise ship passed in front of the shuttle, blocking our view for a short time.
http://www.moose135photography.com/A...rise003-XL.jpg
After leaving Fort Wadsworth, the three of us headed to the Weeks Marine facility in Bayonne. Ultimately, they docked the shuttle in the same spot that US 1549 was after being pulled from the Hudson.

Getting her into place, with the Statue of Liberty, new World Trade Center, and lower Manhattan in the background.

All tucked in for the night. The crane behind the shuttle, #533, is the same one used to pull US1549 out of the Hudson.

Moose and Cary are my witnesses ...
Great work Manny!
Are the roads across from the Weeks Marina public streets?
Also, here are my pics from yesterday: http://www.flickr.com/photos/grink/s...7630035185266/
Yes they are. It's part of the marine terminal, but the street is open to the public, with parking directly across from the shuttle. From Rt 440, look for Pulaski Street which takes you to Port Jersey Blvd. Google Maps shows the location as 202 Port Jersey Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07305 but your GPS may vary.
Use these coordinates in Google Maps to view the location and check directions.

Tuesday's move to the Intrepid has been postponed due to weather...
http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/Latest...E-TO-INTR.aspx
Quote:
The planned final leg of the journey of Space Shuttle Enterprise to its new home at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum has been postponed due to inclement weather which is delaying the prep work necessary to ferry and crane the shuttle to its final destination.
A new moving date has been tentatively set for Wednesday, June 6. As with all the phases of transport for the Enterprise, all moves are based on weather and tidal conditions and will be adjusted if conditions warrant. Intrepid will continue to monitor the forecast.
Enterprise will remain at Weeks Marine in New Jersey until it is brought up the Hudson River and craned onto the Intrepid.
Please note that all dates and times are subject to change, as this journey is weather and tide dependent. For up to the minute information, be sure to follow us on Twitter @IntrepidMuseum and Like us on Facebook.
Thanks. I'll get some predawn shots before I have to drive up to CT tomorrow morning. I just realized I may be able to see Enterprise from my roof in Bay Ridge.
EDIT: Here is a telephoto picture from my window: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62826518@N00/7338160050
Ok so I just ran into this story that says the shuttle hit the train bridge and caused some damage. http://jalopnik.com/5915618/a-new-yo...-shuttles-wing
Although I didn't notice it at the time my pictures show it hitting the bridge.
Ouch!
Close up picture.

Where the heck were the spotting boats to make sure there was clearance on both sides of the wings? Maybe some duck tape will take care of the fix.
Makes me sick seeing that story earlier today. Such a shame.
