- Originally from Ethiopia, I came to the United States at age 16 back in 1990. I lived, went to school and worked in the Washington DC area every since. I got into Aviation because I grew up right near the airport ADD with our house a few meters from the fence by the maintenance hanger. So jet noise was the sound track every night. In addition to that my dad used to take us to the airport which has very good observation deck with clear view of the field. It's not available today.
