Marking Forums/ Topics Read

in the last two days i've noticed that topics aren't automatically marking as "read" after i've gone and read them. forums understandably wouldn't be if each thread wasn't read which i understand, but even after posting a reply to a thread it's still sitting there as bright RED as if i never read it.

I get that as well....using Chrome and Safari browsers.

should've mentioned i'm using chrome on my personal comp and IE6 (gasp!) on company computers....
