United Airlines’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner rolled out of the factory fully assembled early Thursday morning, enroute to becoming the first Dreamliner delivered to a U.S. carrier in early 2012.

In a process that began in mid-August, the sections of the 787’s composite fuselage were joined and the wings were attached, followed by installation of several major systems such as the landing gear. Over the next couple of months, the new United jet will have its Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines attached. Its interior, comprised of 36 BusinessFirst seats, 63 Economy Plus seats and 120 Economy seat will undergo final installation Then it will be off the paint shop.

An official delivery date has not yet been announced.
