The Logbook: American Goes All-In in JAL Poker Game

• Condor will be flying between Frankfurt, Germany and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida beginning May 14, 2010, using a Boeing 767-300. [NYCAviation]

• The first photos were obtained of the first Etihad A330 (-343E) in Toulouse, France. The aircraft will be delivered soon. [AirlinersGallery]

• In West Timor, a Mertapi Fokker F100 (registered PK-MJD) landed with its left main gear retracted. None of the 88 passengers were hurt, and the aircraft only minor damage. [FlightGlobal]

• In the battle that Delta and American Airlines are engaging in to become JAL’s BFF (or for which airline alliance to join), American has offered and investment of $1.1 billion into the company if they agree to remain with Oneworld. [Yahoo]

• Cathay Pacific will add a third daily flight from Honk Kong to Los Angeles, and will bring back the 747-400 onto the route in the process, beginning May 1, 2010. [Airliner Route]

• Reminding many of the great Braniff days, new cargo airline Servientrega has painted a 727-200 in a solid green. [Airliners.net]
