Settling months of speculation, Air France has announced that it will use its first A380s on the Paris-New York JFK run beginning in November.

There had been some rumblings that the first A380 route might connect Paris and Montreal, but it seems our friends to the north will have to wait until more of the superjumbos are delivered. Air France has a dozen A380s on order.

This will be the first transatlantic Europe-US route operated by the A380. Lufthansa is expected to be the second transatlantic A380 operator, likely sometime in 2010.
